The story begins in 1949, when mechanical engineer Leon Silbermann immigrated from Europe to Israel and recognized a pressing need: reliable oxygen pressure regulators for industry and hospitals. With nothing more than a single manual lathe, Leon opened a small workshop and began working on his own. Each day, he visited grocery stores, workshops, and hospitals, repairing and manufacturing pressure regulators wherever they were required.
Whenever a challenge arose, Leon met it head-on. When hospitals requested centralized gas systems to deliver oxygen directly to each patient’s bedside, he expanded his workshop to design and manufacture not only regulators but also wall outlets, flowmeters, humidifiers, vacuum systems, and other critical medical gas equipment — turning every challenge into an opportunity for innovation. That was the beginning of Silbermann Technologies.
